Hello, all.  Hope this finds everyone well and happy.  We would appreciate it if you can put Jamie Rodgers on the prayer list.  She is under the care of TX Children's Hospital staff right now.  They think she has Cushing's Syndrome and possibly diabetes.  We will know more at the end of this week or next week.  Thanks for holding her up in prayer. Sheree & family

Will you please remember Joey, also? He is going to Iraq the second week in May.  Thanks. Sheree

Good morning, I just want you to know that I love the church sign “Lift Jesus to the Heights”.

Thoughts

New Year 2008

I am blessed for what the Lord has done in 2007 and for the year 2008 God will increase that witch He has already given. Look ahead, forget the past except to remember the good things tomorrow is a new day and joy comes in the morning. Start each day with thanks and even if things seem hard praise Him for He is right there in the middle making a way. Thank You Jesus

Time

Time it is a precious thing. We all think that there is always going to be a tomorrow. I know that we are not promised anything but here and now. Are you living for tomorrow? Are you saying to yourself I have time to make things right with family or friends, I have time to make things right with God. If you are saying that then I say to you no one knows the hour when we are to be called home. Don’t let the opportunity pass you by because if tomorrow does not come you can not either.

Advocate for You

You are bought by the Blood of Jesus Christ and have home prepared where you will live eternally. Your salvation is secure. Jesus sits on the right hand of the Father and is your advocate in Heaven and intercedes to the Father for you. But as you still walk here on this earth there is another advocate that will help you in times of trouble, sorrow, confusion, pain or doubt. It is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will communicate with the Son and intercede for you here on earth. He knows what your needs are even if you don’t, when all we can do is groan and don’t know the words to say are how to call out He is there for you.

How great is it that, we live in this day, this age where we have not only the Father to look too but the Son and the Holy Spirit. We need to realize that we are loved and that no matter what fear or circumstance may come against us we are well taken care of.

Thank You Father, Son and Holy Spirit for being there for me and us all.

People do what they want to do

We all have choices in life and we choose to do what we want. Is that choice always right? Is that choice difficult? Now I am talking about day to day choices that can be made in seconds and have miles of repercussions and/or can change someone’s life, even our own.

First do we choice to get up in the morning and thank God for the day or do we get up and complain (murmur) about what we have to do.

If we choose to thank God and go about our day then we will have a more joyful day and if something comes at us that we can not handle we have the knowledge that greater is He that’s within me than he that’s in the world. If we choose to get up face the day and realize that we are not alone, that we have a Friend who will stick with us till the end then we can choose to be happy. When we make this day to day choice we must not forsake the one who has given us so much. So we must also choose to be at church as much as we can when the doors are open (Sunday, Wednesday, Signings, October Fest, any event we have). If you do miss a day or two God understands but don't make it a habit.

Second choice, let’s wake up and complain about what we have to do and grip to our loved ones and forsake our fellowship and see how many people want to be around us. We will not have joy, we can neglect giving back to God what is His already and we can just sit under a vine and wish we were dead like Elijah or Elisha. DO MAKE THIS CHOICE.

Peace

We can choice to have the peace that God has given us by trusting in Him or we can carry every burden on our shoulders and give up the peace that is ours.

Make Up Your Mind

Choose Whom you will follow for you cannot serve 2 masters. You are either in the world or of the world.

Worshiping Jesus Through Song Myron Lewis

Spreading The Word of God

Galatians 1 Jesus Alone Gave Paul the Good News He Spreads

11 I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the Good News I have spread is not a human message. 12 I didn’t receive it from any person. I wasn’t taught it, but Jesus Christ revealed it to me.

13 You heard about the way I once lived when I followed the Jewish religion. You heard how I violently persecuted God’s church and tried to destroy it. 14 You also heard how I was far ahead of other Jews in my age group in following the Jewish religion. I had become that fanatical for the traditions of my ancestors.

15 But God, who appointed me before I was born and who called me by his kindness, was pleased 16 to show me his Son. He did this so that I would tell people who are not Jewish that his Son is the Good News. When this happened, I didn’t talk it over with any other person. 17 I didn’t even go to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was. Instead, I went to Arabia and then came back to Damascus.

18 Then, three years later I went to Jerusalem to become personally acquainted with Cephas.£ I stayed with him for fifteen days. 19 I didn’t see any other apostle. I only saw James, the Lord’s brother. 20 (God is my witness that what I’m writing is not a lie.) 21 Then I went to the regions of Syria and Cilicia. 22 The churches of Christ in Judea didn’t know me personally. 23 The only thing they had heard was this: “The man who persecuted us is now spreading the faith that he once tried to destroy.” 24 So they praised God for what had happened to me.

BUSY

MAKE IT HAPPEN TODAY!
Are You BUSY? Satan called a worldwide convention. In his opening address to his evil angels, he said, "We can't keep the Christians from going to church. We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth. We can't even keep them from forming an intimate, abiding relationship experience in Christ. If they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken. So let them go to their Churches, let them have their conservative lifestyles, but steal their time, so they can't gain that experience in Jesus Christ. "This is what I want you to do, angels" "Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!" "How shall we do this?" shouted his angels. "Keep them busy in the nonessentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered. Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow. "Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6 - 7 days a week, 10 - 12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles.” Keep them from spending time with their children. "As their family fragments, soon, their home will offer no escape from the pressures of work!" "Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive." "Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice." To keep the TV, VCR CDs and their PCs going constantly in their homes. "And see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly. "This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ." "Fill the coffee table with magazines and newspapers. "Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day. "Invade their driving moments with billboards. "Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogues, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services, and false hopes. "Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines so the husbands will believe that external beauty is what's important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives. "Ha! That will fragment those families quickly!" "Even in their recreation, let them be excessive. "Have them return from their recreation exhausted, disquieted, and unprepared for the coming week. "Don't let them go out in nature to reflect on God's wonders. "Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, concerts and movies instead. "Keep them busy, busy, busy"!! "And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences and unsettled emotion." "Go ahead, let them be involved in soul winning. But crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Christ. Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause. It will work! It will work!" It was quite a convention. And the evil angels went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busy, busy, busy and to rush here and there. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I guess the question is: has the devil been successful at his scheme? You be the judge! Friends, This message was sent to me by someone who cares and I thought I could share it with you. Please take heed of the message it brings:

WHOSE HANDS

A basketball in my hands is worth about $19
A basketball in Michael Jordan's hands is worth about $33 million
It depends whose hands it's in

A baseball in my hands is worth about $6
A baseball in Mark McGwire's hands is worth $19 million
It depends whose hands it's in

A tennis racket is useless in my hands
A tennis racket in Pete Sampras' hands is a Wimbledon Championship
It depends whose hands it's in

A rod in my hands will keep away a wild animal
A rod in Moses' hands divided the mighty sea
It depends whose hands it's in

A sling shot in my hands is a kid's toy
A sling shot in David's hand is a mighty weapon
It depends whose hands it's in

Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in my hands is a couple of fish sandwiches
Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in God's hands fed thousands
It depends whose hands it's in

Nails in my hands might produce a birdhouse
Nails in Jesus Christ's hands produced salvation for the entire world
It depends whose hands it's in

As you see now, it depends whose hands it's in. So put your concerns, your worries, your fears, your hopes, your dreams, your families and your relationships in God's hands because it depends on whose hands it's in.

THREE TREES

Once there were three trees on a hill in the woods. They were discussing their hopes and dreams when the first tree said, "Someday I hope to be a treasure chest. I could be filled with gold, silver and precious gems. I could be decorated with intricate carving and everyone would see the beauty."
Then the second tree said, "Someday I will be a mighty ship. I will take kings and queens across the waters and sail to the corners of the world.
Everyone will feel safe in me because of the strength of my hull."
Finally the third tree said, "I want to grow to be the tallest and straightest tree in the forest. People will see me on top of the hill and look up to
my branches, and think of the heavens and God and how close to them I am reaching. I will be the greatest tree of all time and people will always
remember me."
After a few years of praying that their dreams would come true, a group of woodsmen came upon the trees. When one came to the first tree he said, "This looks like a strong tree, I think I should be able to sell the wood to a carpenter" ... and he began cutting it down. The tree was happy, because he knew that the carpenter would make him into a treasure chest.
At the second tree a woodsman said, "This looks like a strong tree, I should be able to sell it to the shipyard." The second tree was happy because he knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship. When the woodsmen came upon the third tree, the tree was frightened because he knew that if they cut him down his dreams would not come true.
One of the woodsmen said, "I don't need anything special from my tree so I'll take this one," and he cut it down.
When the first tree arrived at the carpenters, he was made into a feed box for animals. He was then placed in a barn and filled with hay. This was
not at all what he had prayed for.
The second tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams of being a mighty ship and carrying kings had come to an end.
The third tree was cut into large pieces and left alone in the dark.
The years went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams. Then one day a man and woman came to the barn. She gave birth and they placed the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from the first tree. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but this manger would have to do. The tree could feel the importance of this event and knew that it had held the greatest treasure of all time.
Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from the second tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they were out on the water, a great storm arose and the tree didn't think it was strong enough to keep the men safe. The men woke the sleeping man, and he stood and said "Peace" and the storm stopped. At this time, the tree knew that it had carried the King of Kings in its boat.
Finally, someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the streets as the people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they came to stop, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at the top of a hill. When Sunday came, the tree came to realize that it was strong enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as was possible, because Jesus had been crucified on it.
The moral of this story is that when things don't seem to be going your way, always know that God has a plan for you. If you place your trust in Him, He will give you great gifts. Each of the trees got what they wanted, just not in the way they had imagined. We don't always know what God's plans are for us. We just know that His ways are not our ways, but His ways are always best.

Time For God

God, when I received this e-mail I thought I don't have
time for this. And this is really inappropriate during
work. Then I realized that this kind of thinking is exactly
what has caused a lot of the problems in our world today.
We try to keep God in church on Sunday morning, maybe
Sunday night, and the unlikely event of a midweek service.

We do like to have Him around during sickness and, of course, at
funerals. However, we don't have time or room for Him
during work or play because that's the part of our lives we
think we can, and should, handle on our own.
May God forgive me forever thinking that there is a
time or place where He is not to be FIRST in my life. We
should always have time to remember all He has done for us.

If you aren't ashamed to do this, please follow the
directions.
Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of
you before my Father."

Not ashamed? Pass this on only if you mean it!
Yes, I do Love God. He is my source of existence and
Savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I will
be nothing. Without Him, I am nothing. But with Him, I can do all things
through Christ that strengthens me. Phil 4:13.

This is the simplest test. If you Love God, and are not ashamed of all
the marvelous things he has done for you, send this to as many friends and
family members as you possibly can!

Heaven's Grocery Store

I was walking down life's highway a long time ago. One day I saw a sign that read, "Heaven's Grocery Store". As I got a little closer the door came open wide, and when I came to myself I was standing inside. I saw a host of Angels, they were standing everywhere. One handed me a blanket and said, "My Child shop with care". Everything a Christian needs is in that grocery store, and all you can't carry, come back the next day for more. First, I got some Patience, Love was in the same row. Further down was Understanding, needed everywhere you go. I got a box or two of Wisdom, a bag or two of Faith, I just couldn't miss the Holy Ghost, it was all over the place. I stopped to get some Strength and Courage to help me run this race, but then my blanket was getting full, and I remembered I needed Grace. I didn't forget Salvation, which like the others was free, so I tried to get enough of that to save both you and me. Then I started to the counter to pay my grocery bill, for I thought I had everything to do my master's will. As I went up the aisle, I saw Prayer and had to put it in, for I knew when I stepped outside, I would run right into sin. Peace and Joy were plentiful, they were on the last shelf. Song and Praises were hanging near, so I just helped myself. Then I said to the Angel, "How much do I owe"? The Angel smiled and said, "Just take them everywhere you go." Again, I politely asked, "How much do I really owe?" The Angel smiled again and said, "My Child, Jesus Paid Your Bill A Long Time Ago."

Harsh Words Spoken

I ran into a stranger as he passed by. "Oh excuse me please" was my reply. He said, "Please excuse me too; I wasn't watching for you." We were very polite, this stranger and I. We went on our way and we said good-bye. But at home a different story is told, how we treat our loved ones, young and old. Later that day, cooking the evening meal, my son stood beside me very still. When I turned, I nearly knocked him down. "Move out of the way," I said with a frown. He walked away, his little heart broken. I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken. While I lay awake in bed, God's still small voice came to me and said, "While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use, but the children you love, you seem to abuse. Go look on the kitchen floor, you'll find some flowers there by the door." "Those are the flowers he brought for you. He picked them himself; pink yellow and blue. He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise, and you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes." By this time, I felt very small, and now my tears began to fall. I quietly went and knelt by his bed; "Wake up, little one, wake up," I said. "Are these the flowers you picked for me?" He smiled, "I found'em out by the tree." "I picked 'em because they're pretty like you. I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue." I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today; I shouldn't have yelled at you that way." He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay. I love you anyway. I said, "Son, I love you too, and I do like the flowers, especially the blue." Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days? But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our own family - - an unwise investment indeed, don't you think? So what is behind the story? Do you know what the word FAMILY means? FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER, (I), (L)OVE, (Y)OU.

DEATH WHAT A WONDERFUL WAY TO EXPLAIN IT!!!!!

A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, "Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side."

Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know."

"You don't know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?"

The doctor was holding the handle of the door; on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness. Turning to the patient, the doctor said,
"Did you notice my dog? He's never been in this room before. He didn't know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear.

I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing...

“I know my Master is there and that is enough."

DO YOU LIVE YOUR DASH?

I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning...to the end. He noted that first came her date of birth and spoke the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years. (1934 -1998) For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth... And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own; the cars... the house... the cash, what matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard... Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left, that can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real, and always try to understand the way other people feel. The Attorney

After living a "decent" life, my time on earth came to an end. The first thing I remember is sitting on a bench in the waiting room of what I thought to be a courthouse.

The doors opened and I was instructed to come in and have a seat by the defense table. As I looked around I saw the "prosecutor." He was a villainous looking gent who snarled as he stared at me. He definitely was the most evil person I have ever seen.

I sat down and looked to my left and there sat my lawyer, a kind and gentle looking man whose appearance seemed familiar to me.

The corner door flew open and there appeared the judge in full flowing robes. He commanded an awesome presence as he moved across the room. I couldn't take my eyes off of him.

As he took his seat behind the bench, he said, "Let us begin."

The prosecutor rose and said, "My name is Satan and I am here to show you why this woman belongs in hell."

He proceeded to tell of lies that I told, things that I stole, and in the past when I cheated others. Satan told of other horrible perversions that were once in my life and the more he spoke, the further down in my seat I sank. I was so embarrassed that I couldn't look at anyone, even my own lawyer, as the Devil told of sins that even I had completely forgotten about.

As upset as I was at Satan for telling all these things about me, I was equally upset at my representative who sat there silently not offering any form of defense at all. I know I had been guilty of those things, but I had done some good in my life - couldn't that at least equal out part of the
harm I've done?

Satan finished with a fury and said, "This woman belongs in hell, she is guilty of all that I have charged and there is not a person who can prove otherwise."

When it was his turn, my lawyer first asked if he might approach the bench. The judge allowed this over the strong objection of Satan, and beckoned him to come forward.

As he got up and started walking, I was able to see him in his full splendor and majesty. I realized why he seemed so familiar. This was Jesus representing me, my Lord and my Savior.

He stopped at the bench and softly said to the judge, "Hi Dad," and then he turned to address the court. "Satan was correct in saying that this woman had sinned, I won't deny any of these allegations. And yes the wage of sin is death, and this woman deserves to be punished." Jesus took a deep breath and turned to his Father with outstretched arms and proclaimed, "However, I died on the cross so that this person might have eternal life and she has accepted me as her Savior, so she is mine."

My Lord continued with, "Her name is written in the book of life and no one can snatch her from me. Satan still does not understand yet. This woman is not to be given justice, but rather mercy."

As Jesus sat down, he quietly paused, looked at his Father and replied, "There is nothing else that needs to be done. I've done it all."

The judge lifted his mighty hand and slammed the gavel down. The following words bellowed from his lips... "This woman is free. The penalty for her has already been paid in full. Case dismissed."

As my Lord led me away, I could hear Satan ranting and raving, "I won't give up, I'll win the next one."

I asked Jesus as he gave me my instructions where to go next, "Have you ever lost a case?"

Christ lovingly smiled and said, "Everyone that has come to me and asked me to represent them has received the same verdict as you, 'Paid in Full'." Passing this on to anyone you consider a friend, (as I have done here), will bless you both, that is what Jesus promised us all.

A Deck Of Cards

A young soldier was in his bunkhouse all alone one Sunday morning over in Afghanistan. It was quiet that day, the guns and the mortars, and land mines for some reason hadn't made a noise. The young soldier knew it was Sunday, the holiest day of the week. As he was sitting there, he got out an old deck of cards and laid them out across his bunk. Just then an army sergeant came in and said, "Why aren't you with the rest of the platoon?" The soldier replied, "I thought I would stay behind and spend some time with the Lord." The sergeant said, "Looks like you're going to play cards." The soldier said, “No sir, you see, since we are not allowed to have Bibles or other spiritual books in this country, I've decided to talk to the Lord by studying this deck of cards." The sergeant asked in disbelief, "How will you do that?" "You see the Ace, Sergeant; it reminds that there is only one God. The Two represents the two parts of the Bible, Old and New Testaments. The Three represents the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. The Four stands for the Four Apostles: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The Five is for the five virgins that were ten but only five of them were glorified. The Six is for the six days it took God to create the Heavens and Earth. The Seven is for the day God rested after working the six days. The Eight is for the family of Noah and his wife, their three sons and their wives, in which God saved the eight people from the flood that destroyed the earth for the first time. The Nine is for the lepers that Jesus cleansed of leprosy. He cleansed ten but nine never thanked Him. The Ten represents the Ten Commandments that God handed down to Moses on tablets made of stone. The Jack is a reminder of Satan. One of God's first angels, but he got kicked out of heaven for his sly and wicked ways and is now the joker of eternal hell. The Queen stands for the Virgin Mary. The King stands for Jesus, for he is the King of all kings. When I count the dots on all the cards, I come up with 365 totals, one for every day of the year. There are a total of 52 cards in a deck; each is a week, 52 weeks in a year. The four suits represents the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Each suit has thirteen cards, there are exactly thirteen weeks in a quarter. So when I want to talk to God and thank Him, I just pull out this old deck of cards and they remind me of all that I have to be thankful for." The sergeant just stood there and after a minute, with tears in his eyes and pain in his heart, he said, "Soldier, can I borrow that deck of cards?" Please let this be a reminder and take time to pray for all of our soldiers who are being sent away, putting their lives on the line fighting for us.
